Focal points
When an image is manually cropped by an editor, an implicit focal point is set in the middle of the crop area.
The user may choose to explicitly specify an explicit focal point by double-clicking within the crop area.
When an image is rendered according to its proportions constraints, cropping will be applied in the following order of importance:
- Explicit cropping by the user, i.e. an explicit crop area
- Explicit focal point set by the user
- Automatic crop area
When an image is rendered in proportions other than its defaults, cropping will be applied in the following order of importance:
- Explicit focal point set by the user
- Implicit focal point if image has been manually cropped
- Automatic crop area
Note: Automatic crop area is calculated differently depending on whether CDN service is used, as the CDN service allows for automatic image analysis to determine most suitable area to crop.
