Frequently asked questions
Is Adaptive Images free?
No.
While Adaptive Images is free for development, evaluation, and testing environments, commercial use of Adaptive Images on an intranet or public-facing website requires a license.
Is Adaptive Images futureproof?
Yes.
Commercial licenses guarantee Adaptive Images is continuously developed to support the latest version of Optimizely.
How do I get a license?
Visit adaptiveimages.net or send an e-mail to support@adaptiveimages.net.
Do image properties support export/import?
Yes.
Does the add-on contain custom property type definitions?
No.
The SingleImage and AdaptiveImage property types are effectively block properties.
Can it be used without a CDN?
Yes.
While a CDN can improve performance and auto-cropping features, it is not a requirement. Images served by the website are cached on disk to avoid unnecessary transformations.
Can it be used without a DAM (Digital Asset Management) system?
Yes.
Adaptive Images can be used with standard images uploaded in Optimizely without any DAM integration.
Can DAM integration be added later on?
Yes.
DAM integrations are provider-based. There are out-of-the-box options available for many different DAM vendors, and you can also implement your own custom integrations.
Can you have multiple DAM integrations in parallel?
Yes.
There is no limit to the number of concurrent DAM integrations.
